For most of us, our desks being to become a catch-all for our paperwork, to-do lists, and random trinkets. Here are four of our top tips to keep your desk clutter-free.
The drawers in your desk might not be enough, consider adding additional storage to help keep things organized. Depending on the layout of your workstation, there are numerous ways you could enhance your storage while staying within your designated area.
Does It Serve a Purpose?
Paperweights, picture frames, ornaments, and other tchotchkes sometimes find homes on your workspace. More than likely most of these items are unnecessary and are restricting the amount of space you have for storing work-related items. Take some time to go through these items and decide what you want to keep and what should move to a new home.
Throw It Away
If there is not a use for it, throw it away. Often our desks get cluttered and we are afraid to throw unnecessary items into the trash. If you don’t need it, pitch it. You’ll feel better than when your desk is clutter-free.
Consider ditching the paper to-do lists and opting for a digital version. It might take some getting used to, but your desk will thank you.
