Soil can vary in its PH levels, but depending on what the PH of the soil around your home certain plants may do better than others. You can likely purchase a PH soil testing kit at your local nursery or hardware store.

Make a plan for what plans you plan to purchase, where they will be planted, and how much money you are able to spend. This will help keep you on track and on budget as you work through this project.

After you have tested the PH, ask a professional for advice on what plants would thrive in your garden. A professional can recommend different plants that would be best suited for your yard.  

 

Protect Against Pests

Depending on where you live, pests and wildlife can be a threat to your garden. If you live in a more rural area, you may have to get fencing and take other precautions to protect your plants from being eaten by deer, rabbits, groundhogs, etc!
