One of the best and simple pleasures of living in the Shenandoah Valley is apple picking season!  We are lucky that we have so many choices for our apple picking adventures!

Now that you have your peck of apples…What is the best way to preserve them?   Our friends at Gardners.com recommends the following tips.

1.) Carefully pick and avoid bruised apples.   The old saying is true that one bad apple will ruin others next to it.

2.) Temperature is key. Make sure that the apples are stored in a cool area.

3.) Wrapping the apple in kraft paper helps extend the life of the apple

4.) Do not need apples near other produce
