Decorating With Ultraviolet – The Pantone Color of the Year

Last year, Pantone released the color for 2017 was “Greenery”. It was a bright, lively color  meant to inspire “new beginnings”. Now for 2018, Pantone released “Ultra Violet” would be the color of the year. This color was picked to inspire creativity and originality. To celebrate this year’s color, we have thought of a few ways to bring Ultraviolet into your home decor.

Paint the Walls

Ultraviolet could be used as a paint color in your home. If this color seems too dark, try a lighter hue of the color and use Ultraviolet accents to create a monochromatic look. Another option is to create an accent wall in Ultraviolet.

Furniture

If you are looking for a less permanent way to embrace Ultraviolet, look for pieces of furniture such as couches, rugs, nightstands, and lamps.

Artwork

A piece of artwork could add the color to the room in a more subtle manner in comparison to using larger pieces of furniture.

Smaller Pieces

Maybe you are fond of the color but you are not willing to commit to any drastic design changes? Maybe your style is more minimalist? Smaller accents can be incorporated throughout your home and remain subtle. Coasters, soap dispensers, and vases are all examples of potentially smaller pieces of decor that you could incorporate into your home.
